NEW PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLING BRIDGE OVER THE DANUBE ON THE EXISTING PILLARS OF THE FORMER FRANZ JOSEPH BRIDGE

NEW PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLING BRIDGE OVER THE DANUBE ON THE EXISTING PILLARS OF THE FORMER FRANZ JOSEPH BRIDGE

A pedestrian and cycling bridge with a total length of about 450 m is being built on the existing pillars of the former Franz Josef Bridge. The existing tunnels will be reconstructed, and underground elevators will be built. The elevators will be panoramic, of attractive and touristic character. With the revitalization of the tunnel, a direct pedestrian-cycling connection will be created between the recreation area of Kej (The Danube Promenade) on the Novi Sad side, and the Danube bastion on the Petrovaradin side. Furthermore, the roads and service network will be improved, including the introduction of pedestrianization in the Lower Town and the reconstruction of Kamenica Road. The area around the Lovoturs facility will be revitalized, while maintaining the historical character of this part of the Fortress.

The project includes the creation of a Conceptual Design with Feasibility Study, Conceptual Solution, Hydrological Study, Environmental Impact Assessment Study (if the competent authority prescribes it), Elaboration on Geotechnical Conditions of Construction and Elaboration on Fire Protection. The project is currently in the phase of Location Conditions obtaining. The application for Location Conditions was submitted to the Provincial Secretariat on December 28th, 2022. All the conditions of the holders of public authorisations have been obtained, except for the ZZSK of the NS (for which the legal deadline for issuing the Conditions is still running).

The estimated investment value is 3,994,410,150.00 Dinars. (with VAT)

Note: The investment value is calculated on the basis of the Conceptual Solution and there may be significant deviations after the development of the Conceptual Design (10-20%).
